Spot's Artwork DisplayedPublished Wednesday, July 1, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneVirgil 'Spot' Daniel of Prescott will be showing his art in Reno, Nev., during the month of July, it was announced last week. The month of July is the annual Uptown Downtown Arttown group of events and exhibits, celebrating the arts by Lois Zetter of the Zetter Collection in Carson City, Nev. Zetter represents Daniel in the art world. According to a news letter from Zetter, Daniel modestly says that is Arkansas' best known outsider artist. Now 78, he started making art at the age of 66. The first thing he painted was his golf cart. He also paints animals, portraits, still lives and scenes, all in bright and animated colors. On July 24, Spot (he signs his work with a spot inside a D) will be on the Bruce Van Dyke's morning show (in the state of Nevada) live from Arkansas.
