Nellie TurnerPublished Wednesday, July 1, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneNellie Brooks Turner, 93, of Hope died Sunday, June 28, 1998, at Pinehope Nursing Home in Hope. Mrs. Turner was born October 23, 1904, in Allegre, Ky., to Louis Daniel and Annie Kizzia May McClane. A homemaker, she was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by one son, Marion Daniel Brooks, one daughter, Bessie Mae Grant, and two brothers, Alex McClane and George McClane. Survivors include one son, Ed Brooks of Hope; four daughters, June Mosier, Janie M. Chance and Patsy Bright, all of Hope and Annie Ruth Ulrich of Modesto, Calif.; one son-in-law, Kenneth Grant of Hope; one sister, Eula Johnson of Delight, 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; three great, great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 2, at 10:00 a.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Hope with Wallace Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hope. Arrangements are under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 1, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
