BoughtonMrs. Willie HooksPublished Wednesday, July 1, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune We have quite a bit of sickness. Everett Orren spent most of the week in St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, but he has now returned home with much medication. Herbert Ridgell is in Medical Park Hospital in Hope. He is hoping to come home soon. Roy Brown is in Wadley Hospital in Texarkana. Shorty Garner is also having some problems with a pulled ligament in his leg. Remember all the sick in your prayers. Congratulations to Angie and Paul Copeland. They are the proud parents of a baby girl born Saturday, June 20. The baby weighed six pounds and four ounces. Diane and Billy Blankenship are the proud maternal grandparents. Annie Mae Hooks is the maternal great grandmother. Willie and I enjoyed our son, Willie Hugh, spending Monday night with us and Bill Joe Walthall visiting us Friday afternoon. Agatha Cowart of Idabel, Okla., spent Thursday and Friday night with Annie Mae Hooks. Gary and Gaywin Golden, along with Grant, had dinner with them Saturday. Cathryn Jester spent one night last week with her sister and brother-in-law, Martha Ann and Rouch Allison, of Hamburg. She gathered some corn for the freezer. Bro. Danny Miller resigned as pastor of Boughton Church on Sunday due to health problems. Elsie May, Paula, Louona Jones of Foreman, picked up their sister, Annie Mae Hooks, on Sunday and they all attended the Calloway reunion at DeGray State Park. I have just heard our good friend, Katie Moore, has passed away. She will be buried in Nubbin Hill on Tuesday. Katie was a faithful member of Boughton Church for many years. Her family certainly has our sympathy. How can there be so much difference between a day off and an off day? Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
