Ralph W. PendergastPublished Wednesday, July 8, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneRalph W. Pendergast, 79, of Plainview, Texas, died Saturday, July 4, 1998 at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. Mr. Pendergast was born August 17, 1918, in Limon, Colo. He grew up in Massachusetts, but he lived in Prescott from 1941 to 1946. He was an independent paint contractor and he owned and operated Ralph's deep Rock Service Station from 1970-79. He was retired from Plainview I.S.D. Mr. Pendergast was a member of First United Methodist Church in Plainview. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Pendergast of Plainview; one son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Martha Pendergast of Plainview; two brothers, Thomas and Ralph McKinnon of Prescott; four sisters, Mildred Manning of Lawrence, Mary Lou Cobb of Texarkana and Judy Martin and Joan Barton of Prescott; two granddaughters, Ashley Ann and Kimberly Brooke Pendergast of Plainview. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth McKinnon and Jakie McKinnon and one sister, Flora Hanning. Services were Tuesday, July 7, at First United Methodist Church in Plainview with pastor Dr. Max Browning officiating.
