Ava Jane GarrettPublished Wednesday, July 8, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneAva Jane Garrett, 78, of Springdale died Wednesday, July 1, 1998, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. Mrs. Garrett was born February 16, 1920, at Zion, to Andrew J. Shell and Ma Hala Lucas Shell. She moved to Springdale in 1995 from Prescott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis E. Garrett in 1986; three brothers: Price Shell, Knox Shell and Tom Shell; and one sister, Sarah Mabel Perryman. Survivors include two daughters, Ava Lou Garrett and Rebecca Ann Cox; one son-in-law, David R. Cox; and one grandson; Garrett Matthew Cox, all of Springdale. Services were Friday, July 3, 1998, in Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jerry Westmoreland officiating. Burial was in DeAnn Cemetery by Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott.
