We have been saddened by the death of several people since I wrote last. Among those who were like 'mamas' to me beside Aunt Edna Mae Hart are Edith Dillard and Louise Young. Edith was brought from Houston, Texas, and the funeral was held at Rosston Church with burial in Rosston Cemetery. Louise Young passed away last Sunday night at Magnolia Hospital at the age of 99. Funeral was at Smith Funeral Home in Stamps with burial in Columbia Cemetery near Waldo. The Lord really blessed her with a long life. Sonja Shepperd, husband of Selma Mae Dixon, passed away last week at Camden. Funeral was last Sunday morning with a graveside service and burial in Dixon Cemetery.

We also attended the funeral of Leonard Goodwin of Whites Chapel on Friday afternoon. Bro. Jerry Evans and Bro. Wayne Langston officiated. Burial was in Union Cemetery. He will be missed by so many other than family, because he grew vegetables and watermelons for lots of people for many years. His was the first casket spray I had every seen made of a watermelon and vegetables. It was very pretty and very fitting. Please remember all these good Christian families in your prayers.

A.B. and Maxine Luck and Roscoe and I had supper at Western Sizzlin in Hope on Friday night. We visited with Carrol and Hera Moorehead while we were there.

Roscoe and I had as guest on the Fourth all of our family except a few who had to work. Marion's Aunt Katie came from Texarkana and had supper with us. They all left in time to get to Texarkana to see the fireworks.

Jaritta Sorrels was in a car wreck and got a broken ankle. She is in Magnolia Hospital. We send get-well wishes to her.

Bro. Ray Bowman's wife, Nettie Ann, of Bodcaw Church remains in Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Roscoe and I visited with Bro. Bowman last Monday when we went to Little Rock for Roscoe's check-up. They thought Nettie Ann might get in a Memphis hospital for this tedious heart surgery, which is still in the experimental stage, but they learned they were not equipped for this type of surgery there and neither are they in Shreveport. So now they are trying to get her in a Houston hospital. They desperately need our prayers.

Ila Carpenter's granddaughter, Allison, of Dallas came by to take Ila to see her daughter in West Monroe, La., for their July 4th get together.

Cathy Carpenter and daughter, Amy, went with Cathy's father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Ramos, to Indiana to visit Cathy's grandmother for a week.

Roscoe didn't get all his test completed last Monday as the doctor had an emergency heart surgery to do, so we will return to Little Rock on Tuesday for the final test. Pray that we get a good report.

Jim Dixon has not been feeling good lately and he has doctors appointment in Texarkana tomorrow for an MRI.

Paul and Dot Broussard had relatives as guests during the holidays, but I didn't learn who all came.

Dail Evans and Marjorie both went to the doctor last week. Pray that all our sick people will soon be better. Even I had a back problem and went to a chiropractor. I call him the miracle man as he really did help me with one treatment.
