CaneyRuby WickerPublished Wednesday, July 8, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune Barbara Callicott Barber and family entertained relatives at her home in McCaskill on the 4th of July. Relatives from Caney were Pocket and Nez, Kay, Cannon and Heather Callicott; Bob, Carolyn, Dennis and Chris Hicks; and Tracy Mayo, Raymond, Terry, Michealle Hicks and family. Grace Callicott and Coy spent the Fourth in the hospital. Grace had a reaction from some of her medication. Maxine and J.W. Glass had all of the neighbors in for homemade ice cream. Sixty-seven neighbors enjoyed 17 freezers of ice cream. Plans for vacation Bible school have been completed. We will have one day, July 24, beginning at 8 a.m. We expect to have a large school with our program on Sunday evening following. Join us. Bro. Bobby Lunsford volunteered to grill hot dogs and burgers for lunch. Our summer revival begins July 27 at 7 p.m. Bro. Bob Goodnight of Pineville, La., will be our evangelist. This will be his third year to hold our revival and he sure tells it like it is. Brother Junior and Ann Loe and Bro. Tal and his family attended the Loe reunion at Cale City Hall Saturday. Joe Loe from Tennessee and Abe Loe, who lives at Watson, and Russell Stokes of Fort Worth, Texas, who all came for the reunion, spent Friday afternoon with Ann and Junior. Junior and Ann's granddaughter, Sarah Bradshaw from Camden spent Saturday night with them and came to church with them Sunday. My children all came to my house the Fourth.
