BodcawAline ClausPublished Wednesday, July 8, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune I hope everyone had a happy Fourth with cookout, fish fry or whatever. We enjoyed a pretty good rain on Thursday. We sure enjoyed it and needed it at Bodcaw. It turned everything green again. Richard and Sue Miller of Idabel, Okla., spent Sunday with Mom, Maudie Miller. Marie Tye and all her family who could go, went to the the Bob Spencers of El Dorado for the Fourth. Sorry to report the death of Edward Allen. Services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Bodcaw Church with burial in the church cemetery. Remember Lola and all the family. We had a great revival last week with Bro. Jim Sayers as evangelist. There was special singing each night. Ruth Baker, Lillie Mae Phillips, Zelma Mullins and I don't know who else went to visit their younger sister, Linda Loe, and her family of New Boston, Texa, for the Fourth. Gale and Andy Mello of Lafayette, La., has been in the area visiting grandmother, Alta Mullins. Christy and Laura Butler of Marshall, Texas, are spending a few days with mama, Morine Butler, and Ruby Vines and went to church with them. Wedding bells will be ringing this Saturday, July 11, for Beth Dorman and Brent Thomas at Unity Baptist Church in Hope at 4 p.m. Everyone is invited. We wish them much happiness. Earlene Butler is not feeling very well. She went to a doctor in Tyler, Texas, on Monday for her back and hip. She now has shingles with a lot of pain. Remember her. Marguerite Dorman is improving at home after surgery. Remember her and all our sick. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
