Emergency Loans Are Available For FarmersPublished Wednesday, July 8, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneAdministrator Keith Kelly has named Columbia, Lafayette and Miller Counties as eligible for Farm Service Agency emergency farm loans due to damages and losses caused by flooding that occurred on May 28 and May 29. In addition to the above counties that were named as the primary disaster area, five other Arkansas counties are also eligible, because they are contiguous. Those counties include Nevada, Hempstead, Union, Little River and Ouachita. Farmers in the disaster areas have until February 22, 1999, to apply for the loans to help cover part of their actual losses. To be eligible, producers must have suffered severe physical losses, be able to repay the loan and any other loans, be unable to obtain credit elsewhere and have adequate security. Additional information regarding eligibility and other loan requirements may be obtained by contacting your local FSA county office. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
