A Prescott man was sentenced to 40 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction for a series of crimes in Southern Nevada County.

Hank Jackson, according to Nevada County Sheriff Steve Otwell, entered a plea agreement on three counts of commercial burglary in court recently. He was given 10 years on each count to be served consecutively.

In addition, he was given 10 years for felony fleeing, after running from law enforcement officers.

Jackson was initially arrested for breaking into three businesses in the Rosston area last month.

When officers found him, he fled, first in a vehicle he drove down a log road, then on foot into the woods.

His efforts netted him 40 years in prison, with the judge ordering Jackson to also pay restitution to the businesses he robbed.

Otwell said the 70 percent rule doesn't apply in this case and Jackson could be out in 10-12 years.
