Golden Oldies

The birthday cake donated by Piggly Wiggly was enjoyed June 30 by all who had June birthdays.

The senior adults are trying to get the Kitchen Band started again. They will be practicing each Wednesday. Elizabeth Shepherd was to sing for the seniors on July 7. We always enjoy her singing. Blood pressure checks are set for July 14.

There will be many activities in July.

The goal of the senior nutrition programs is to help senior citizens remain independent and be able to reside in their own homes. This is why we are asking volunteers from churches, individuals and clubs to help us at the Gurdon Senior Adult Center to provide meals for adults age 60 and older, or their spouses. This program is administered by Central Arkansas Development Council through the center at Gurdon. If you can help, call Cindy Rhodes at the center at 353- 2095. We have been enjoying delicious meals at the center.

We wish again to thank Clarence and Martha Haltom for delivering Home delivered lunches on Monday and Tuesday. We also thank other volunteers who have been donating their time.

The Cover Girls are making progress on the quilt for the Forest Festival.

We wish to welcome all the visitors who have recently started coming to the center. The center is a United Way Agency.
