Eastern Star Baptist Church will have its annual matron's day program Sunday, July 12, at 2:30 p.m. Guest churches will be Mt. Canaan, St Clair, Burtsell and Genneraset Baptist Churches. Rev. Charles Hood will bring the message. Rev. Marshall Allen, pastor. Edna Cooper, matron president. A Star Quest is the title of vacation Bible school at Curtis First Baptist Church. It will be held July 13-17 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. There will be classes for nursery age through youth. The landing of this space adventure will be topped off with a commencement service at 7:30 p.m. on Friday night with fellowship to follow. Vacation Bible school continues at Beech Street Baptist Church in Gurdon through July 10. Services begin each night at 6:30 and end at 9:00. For more information, or for a ride, call 353-4971. Beech Street Baptist Church is located on Red Springs Road. The Clark County Equalization Board will be in session August 3 through August 28 on Tuesdays and Thursdays to review assessments and hear taxpayers appeals in Clark County. Appointments must be made on or before August 17. Arkansas Rehabilitation Services will be at the Gurdon Municipal Building July 16 from 8:30 to 11:30 and on July 30 from 8:00 to 4:30. For more information, you can call 353- 2514. Second interdenominational state-wide tent revival is coming to Gurdon August 2-8. It will be hosted by Rev. Ronald Scott, pastor of Muldrew Chapel, Rev. Bural Gill of Church on the Rock of Texarkana. Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon.
