VFD Gets GrantBY JOHN MILLERPublished Wednesday, July 8, 1998 in the Gurdon Times State Rep. Percy Malone has worked to get a grant for the Kansas Volunteer Fire Department. The money, Malone said, will be used to make the current fire station more energy efficient. The idea is to insulate the building, getting it to R-11, and side the exterior, along with installing soffit and facie. The entire grant, some $4,300, should cover the cost of these projects.
