On July 16 at 7:30 p.m. the annual public speaking will be held at Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Arkadelphia. It will be sponsored by the Southwest Youth Department. Rev. Ron Browning, pastor.

The 40th annual youth day will be Friday, July 17, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Malvern. Rev. Chad Hart, pastor.

Annual mission program will be July 18 and19 at the Gennesant Baptist Church in Arkadelphia at 7 p.m. and 3 p.m. respectively. Everyone is welcome. Guest speaker will be Mrs. Melva Giles of Magnolia. Rev. Charles Hood, pastor.

Annual homecoming at Providence A.M.E. Church of the Kansas community will be Sunday, July 19, at 3:00 p.m. Everyone and all churches are welcome. The guest speaker will be evangelist Betty Gulley, associate pastor of Bethel A.M.E. Church of Gurdon. Other guests will be present. Rev. Flostene Quarles, pastor.

Matron day will be Sunday, July 19, at Muldrew Chapel C.M.E. Church of Gurdon at 3:00 p.m. Everyone and all churches are welcome. Special guests include Pleasant Grove and Harrison Chapel Baptist Churches of Okolona and Delight. Rev. Rufus R. Hatley, pastor and speaker. Rev. Ronald Scott, pastor.

The Welch reunion will be Friday and Saturday, July 24 and 25, in Little Rock. It is sponsored by Fred and Geneva Shells. For more information, you may contact Fred Shells at 501- 664-7763.

The 48th annual homecoming and the 110th church anniversary at Mt. Friendship Baptist Church in Curtis will be Saturday and Sunday, July 25 and 26, at 7:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Saturday night will be home comers and their guests.

Sunday's special guest include Mt. Ephesus Baptist Church of Prescott and Union Hill Baptist Church of Lewisville. Rev. Fred L. Walters, pastor and speaker. Rev. Louis James, pastor.

Shady Grove Baptist Church in Beirne will celebrate its annual homecoming and church anniversary on Sunday, July 25, at 2:30 p.m. Everyone and all churches are welcome. Special guests include New Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Gurdon. Rev. Quinten Radford, pastor and speaker. Other home comers are also on the program. Rev. O.J. Newburn, pastor.

Sunday, August 2, at 3:00 p.m., the 10th annual homecoming of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Gurdon will be held. Everyone and all churches are welcome. Special guests include Union Baptist Church of Hot Springs. Rev. Douglas Jones, pastor and speaker. Rev. Quinton Radford, pastor.

Sunday, August 2, at 3:00 p.m., Rev. Charles Gatlin of Little Rock will be the guest speaker at St. Clair Baptist Church in Burtsell. Everyone and all churches are welcome. Rev. L.B. Beard, pastor.

Mrs. Lonnie Ruth Gould and Mrs. Willie Mae Woodson of New York City visited their mother, Mrs. Letha Simpson, their sister and brother, Ruth Simpson and Mr. and Mrs. Delton Simpson and family of Gurdon, brother in Sparkman, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Simpson and family, sisters of Malvern, Ida Reed and Ruby Jovan, and other relatives and friends.

Ronnie Jovan of Vernon, Texas, visited his grandmother, Mrs. Letha Simpson. The Simpsons had a dinner for their mother, Mrs. Letha Simpson. They served buffet style. It was an enjoyable occasion. Mrs. Gould and Mrs. Woodson have returned home safely.

The Vaden reunion was held July 4th at DeGray. It was a wonderful occasion.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stafford and son of Memphis, Tenn., Tommy E. Stafford and daughter, Ashley, and Debra Stafford of Hot Springs, Lori Stafford of Arkadelphia, James Stafford Jr. and daughter, Kendaria, of Gurdon, and Brenda Sue Berry of Cleveland, Ohio, visited and called their parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Stafford of the Greenville Community on July 4th. A birthday cookout in honor of Lori Stafford and William James Stafford was celebrated. It was a happy occasion. Their nephew and cousin, Michael Stafford, of Little Rock stopped by. They all returned home safely.

Tuesday, July 21, revival services will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Eastern Star Baptist Church in Smithton. Everyone and all churches are welcome. Rev. Marshall Allen, pastor. Evangelist for the week will be Rev. Raymond Clayborn, son of the late Will Fred Clayborn and sister of Barbara Dickens of Gurdon. Rev. Clayborn is from Dallas, Texas.
