Poarwe Winners Are ProclaimedPublished Wednesday, October 6, 1999 in the Gurdon TimesThe Clark County Farm Bureau women's committee has announced the winners of the safety promotion contest it sponsored. Winners from Gurdon Primary in the first- through third-grade category were first grader Kayla Sanford and second grader Railey Williams. In the fourth- through sixth-grade category at GPS it was fourth-grader Tynesha Ivory winning. The contest extended to the Cabe Middle School. Winners at CMS were fifth-grader Kendra Young and sixth-grader Brittney Judd. The themes for the posters were to be related to some aspect of safety such as farm machinery, chemicals, home, fire, bus, tornado, poisoning, etc. All the winners received ribbons from Becky Baumgardner, representing Farm Bureau's committee. The students will now be entered in the county contest. Those who win on this level will receive cash awards of $30 for first, $20 for second, and $10 for third places.
