Decorating with sheets was a video the Red Springs Extension Homemakers Club viewed at the July 9 meeting in the home of Dianna Bloomfield.

Not only are sheets used for the bed, they are used for window treatments, decorating pillows, place mats, table cloths and runners and sewn into slip covers for chairs, just to name a few ideas.

Tootsie Dempsey gave the program on interior decorating. She demonstrated a no-sew window treatment using fabric, plastic bags or newspapers, rubber bands, card board, a stapler and two curtain rods.

President Jean Toland presided over the business session. Mary McBride led the group in singing Arkansas and God Bless America, following with the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Dianna Bloomfield gave the devotional with prayer led by Helen Toland.

The fall council meeting will be October 22 in Arkadelphia at the First Methodist Church.

Jean Toland displayed a banner made by Charlie Brandon and given to the club to be used in the club's activities.

Kathy Bauer won the door prize.

Morgan Palmer will represent the club in the Little Miss category of the Clark County Fair Queen contest in September.

The meeting adjourned with Kathryn Burchfield leading the Homemakers Prayer. Blessing the food was Sybil Harris.

The August 13th meeting will be Dutch treat at Bowen's in Caddo Valley.
