Alcoholics Anonymous, a fellow-ship of men and women who wish to stop drinking, meets every Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church.

Al-Anon, for those affected by another's drinking, meets Thursday

evenings at 8:00 in the church. For more information call 887-5991.

Narcotics Anonymous now meets in Gurdon at the Presbyterian Church on Tuesdays and Fridays from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. For more information, call 353-6612.

Moms-In-Touch prayer group for schools meets at 9 a.m. on Tuesdays at First Baptist Church. Call 887-6376 for additional information.

A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be in Prescott in the Social Security room in the courthouse on Thursday, July 23, August 27 and September 24 from 9 a.m. until 12:00 noon.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind children. To find out if you are eligible, call 1-800-772-1213.

Nevada County Recycle and Work Center summer schedule will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday of each week from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Pickups will be available on these days only. You may continue to drop off your items Sunday through Saturday as the bins are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If you need further assistance you can call Elaine Williams at 887- 6750.

The descendants and relatives of Thomas Samuel and Josephine McCorkle and George Washington and Martha Griffin will meet in joint reunion on July 19 at the Fair Park Coliseum in Hope. There will be a potluck lunch and visiting with relatives and friends in the afternoon.

The chamber coffee will be hosted by the Nevada County Ambulance Service Thursday, July 23, from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

The coffee will be held at the chamber office.

Nevada School District will have its regular meeting of board of education on July 16 in the school library at 7 p.m.

Southwest Arkansas Development Council ceased taking applications for Crisis Intervention Program at the close of the day on June 30 because of the depletion of funds.
