Vance Dewayne BlackmonPublished Wednesday, July 15, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneVance Dewayne Blackmon, 33, of Hope died Wednesday, July 8, 1998, at his home in Washington. Mr. Blackmon was born on December 6, 1964, in Hope to Jerry and Linda Jean Allen Blackmon. He was a self-employed poultry farmer and truck driver and a member of Bodcaw #1 Baptist Church in Bodcaw. Survivors include two daughters, Shelby LeAnn Blackmon and Taylor Nicole Blackmon of Washington; his parents, Jerry and Linda Jean Allen Blackmon of Hope; one sister Traci Denise Blackmon Cochran of Washington; his maternal grandmother, Lola Allen of Hope; and his paternal grandparents, Christopher C. and Myrtis Fay Simmons. Funeral services were Saturday, July 11, at Bodcaw #1 Baptist Church in Bodcaw with Rev. Milton Langston and Rev. Tom Stephens officiating.
