Wiley To Be At Appl\olo

Kenney Wiley Jr., a native of Prescott, will be performing live at the Apollo Theater in New York City on August 19.

Wiley competed in the Arkansas Talent Search at Little Rock in November 1997, where he played a saxophone solo and won second place. Recently he was informed that the first place winners were unable to perform at the Apollo and that second place would qualify him to perform.

Wiley is the 15-year-old son of Kenneth and Darlene Wiley of Prescott and the grandson of Murlean and Samuel Brooks and Ed and Ora Wiley of Prescott.

He is a sophomore at Prescott High School and plays saxophone in the marching, concert and jazz bands.

He is a member of Macedonia Missionary Church in the Boughton community, where he is an associate musician, playing drums, piano, organ, keyboard and saxophone.

Wiley has always had a love for music. He enjoys composing, traveling and hanging with friends.
