BoughtonMrs. Willie HooksPublished Wednesday, July 22, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune I repeat. It is still hot. I appreciate comments on my news. Robert Andrews, out of state, enjoys my news. Thank you, Robert. L.V. and Barbara Norris of Monroe, La., spent a couple of days and nights with Everett and Mary Orren. Other visitors visiting with them were Jim and Anette Pedigo and Elizabeth, Huie Garner and Chloe and Robert Orren. Helen Buie is in Little River Nursing Home at this time. If you would like to send her a card or word of encouragement send it to Little River Nursing Home, Room 101, Ashdown, AR 71822. Willie and I enjoyed having Sam Reel visit us a while Tuesday morning. Some of Doris Ridgell's visitors last week were her granddaughter, Dodie Ridling, Stephen, Lacy and Dillon, Judy Martin and Joan Barton. Congratulations to Terry Glass. She and Steve Maxwell went to Florida last week. She entered a fishing tournament there and won second place by catching the biggest fish. Terry is the daughter of Mae Blount. Doyle Everett and Hershel and Tommy Hooks spent the weekend here visiting their mother, Cathrine Hooks, and being together. Mae Blount, Terry Glass and Steve Maxwell attended the funeral of Mae's brother-in-law, Leandrea Key. Willie and I visited Ray and Syble Brown Friday and Mary Ann and J.D. Lucas Sunday. Other visitors in the Brown home during the week were Roy Loomis and J.D. Kelly. Annie Mae Hooks also visited in the Lucas home Sunday afternoon. Mike Belle of Camden spent Saturday night and Sunday with his mother and grandmother, Sue Austin and Katie Pittman. Bro. Zumwalt of Marlbrook preached at Boughton Church Sunday. Children of Boughton Church are attending Church camp this week. A Godly example is worth more than a thousand words. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
