Kisselburg Honored As Eagle Scout

On May 18, Albert Augustus 'Gus' Kisselburg was honored with a reception at the First United Methodist Church. He has achieved an important goal of becoming an Eagle Scout.

The 16-year-old Kisselburg is currently a junior at Prescott High School.

He is the son of Wayne and Jacque Kisselburg of Redland. He has one sister, Tina Marie Egger, and is the grandson of Mary Lee Kisselburg.

Kisselburg is a member of Boy Scout Troop 80 and is a member of Explorer Post 80 of the Nevada County Sheriff's office. He is a member of the Order of the Arrow in the Boy Scouts of America.

This summer he began his second year at Camp Pioneer Boy Scout Camp, teaching how to use a compass in orienteering. He also found time to go on a 12-day high-adventure hike in New Mexico at the Boy Scout Camp Philmont.

Kisselburg is a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and is a licensed preacher. His future plans are to go to college and study theology and science. He also loves music and is a member of the Prescott Wolf Pride marching band and concert band. His favorite instrument is the tempani. He can play all drums and percussion instruments.
