Willene VadenPublished Wednesday, October 6, 1999 in the Gurdon TimesWillene Vaden, 76, of North Little Rock, formerly of Vaden, died Monday, September 27 after a long and courageous bout with cancer. She was born September 10, 1923 in Brush Creek, the daughter of the late Sam and Hattie Breshears Riggan. She was a long time member of the Harmony Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her sister, Imogene Murray and one brother, A.C. Riggan. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Willard Ray Vaden of North Little Rock; one son, Gerald and his wife, Connie Vaden of Sherwood; two brothers Elton Riggan of Brush Creek and Herschel Riggan of Minden, La.; six grandchildren and eight great-grand children. Funeral services were held Thursday, September 30, in the Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel with Bro. J.E. Small and Bro. Donald Gates officiating. Interment was in Copeland Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
