In Our TimePublished Wednesday, July 22, 1998 in the Gurdon TimesStudents who will enter grades kindergarten through the fourth at Gurdon Primary School for the first time need to come by the primary school office on Thursday, July 23, to register between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Kindergarten students must have a copy of birth certificate, immunization record, social security number and have a physical before beginning school on August 19. Bible school at Beirne Baptist Church continues through July 24 from 9 to 11 a.m. Classes are for pre-school through sixth grade. Eastern Star Baptist Church will continue its revival through July 24. Services begin at 6:30 nightly. Rev. Raymond Clayborn of Texas will be the evangelist. Brittney and Christopher Dickerson announce the birth of their sister, Kathy Elizabeth. She was born on Friday, June 14, 1998, at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton. She weighed eight pounds and one ounce and was 19, inches long. Her parents are Tim and Beverly Dickerson of Okolona. Grandparents are Larry and Jacque Cash of Arkadelphia and John Paul and Cornelia Dickerson of Okolona. Great grandparents are Loyd and Bonnie Cash of Brerard, N.C., and Fern Hickey of Emmet. Great great grandfather is Foster Stephens of Clovis New Mexico. Eastern Star Baptist Church in Gurdon will have a revival starting July 20 thru 24 beginning nightly at 6:30. Rev. Raymond Clayborn of Texas will be the evangelist. Rev. Marshall Allen is the pastor. The second annual tent revival in Gurdon will be held August 2-8. Services will start at 7:00 nightly. Rev. Ronald Scott, pastor of Muldrew Chapel C.M.E. church, and Rev. Berrill Gile, minister of the Church on the Rock in Texarkana, are sponsoring the revival. Everyone is invited to hear the Testimonies from Nashville. Refreshments will be served. Arkansas Rehabilitation Services will be at the Gurdon Municipal Building July 30 from 8:30.
