Al-Anon, for those affected by another's drinking, meets Thursday evenings at 8:00 in the church. For more information call 887-5991. Moms-In-Touch prayer group will meet August 4 at First Baptist Church at 1:15. Any mother interested in meeting to pray for one hour for our children and school call 887-6376 for additional information. A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be in Prescott in the Social Security room in the courthouse on Thursday, August 27 and September 24, from 9 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Supplemental Security Income (SSI) pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind children. To find out if you are eligible, call 1- 800-772-1213. Nevada County Recycle and Work Center summer schedule is Monday, Wednesday and Friday of each week from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Pickups will be available on these days only. You may continue to drop off your items Sunday through Saturday as the bins are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If you need further assistance you can call Elaine Williams at 887- 6750. American Cancer Society will meet Thursday, July 30, at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church to finalize plans for the annual golf tournament. The tournament will be held August 8 at Prescott Country Club, the date having been changed to accommodate several teams. All members of the Nevada Chapter are urged to be present. Vacation Bible school will be held at the Hope Church of Christ August 3-6 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Hope Quilters Guild will meet Friday, July 31, at 7 p.m. in the Citizens National Bank conference room located at Third and Elm in Hope. There will be a lecture and trunk show presented by Jim Gatlin, who is an art teacher and the past president of the Arkansas Quilt Guild. Admission will be $5. The monthly business meeting will follow. An open house at Lee National Guard Armory at 841 West Gee in Prescott will be held August 8. A static display of weapons will be on hand. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Cale will be having a revival August 3-7. Bro. Britt Dupree, pastor of Park Missionary Church in Prescott, will be the speaker. Services will begin at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend. Emmet School Board will have its regular monthly meeting Monday, August 3, at 7 p.m. in room 4. The agenda will include elementary and high school principals' reports, superintendent's report, consider security system, changing date of September board meeting to September 14 and personnel matters. New Beginning FGBC invites you to attend their first annual Arkansas state conference Wednesday, July 29 through Friday, July 31. Guest speaker will be Bishop Michael Desmuke of North Little Rock.
