RedlandHazel MeeksPublished Wednesday, July 29, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune Don't know how much rain we got, but we're sure rejoicing over what we did get. Nell and Howard McDaniel from Monroe, La., recently visited Jackie and Frances Bidwell. Garrett Crellin spent Sunday with Ross Pilgreen. Billie Ridling and her daughters, Rhonda Hillery, Terri Vandiver and Kim Cottingham and possibly other relatives had a family birthday party for their mother and grandmother, Willie McClain, at Hillcrest Care Center on Monday. Mary Lee Kisselburg has returned from a vacation trip to San Antonio, Texas. Harvey and Faye Taylor spent Sunday with her mother, Minnie Moore, in Camden. About 50 Shady Grove Baptist Church youth and adults enjoyed homemade ice cream, volley ball, and other games on Sunday night, July 19. On Sunday night, July 26, the youth served us adults barbecue sandwiches, chips, cheese dip and drinks. All of you make a note, our vacation Bible school will be August 3 through 7 each night from 6:30 to 8:30. Friends of Bill Ridling will be sorry to know he underwent surgery on Thursday at St. Michael Hospital. It was real serious surgery, but he is doing well. Doug and Deanna Haynie spent the weekend with his mother, Glendene Haynie, and attended the wedding of his brother, James. We women do talk too much, but even then we don't tell half we know.
