We have had about an inch of rain, but it is still hot and dry. We are thankful for what we got.

I would like to correct a mistake. It was Rupert Andrews instead of Robert that commented on my news. So, thank you, Rupert.

Our grandson, Doug Hooks, of Mayesville, S.C., spent Friday night and Saturday with us. He is on his way to work in Wyoming.

Dawn Rudd of Camden spent Saturday night and Sunday with her mother and grandmother, Sue Austin and Katie Pittman. They had supper at Maxine's in Prescott Saturday night. Jeff Ridgell visited with them Saturday night.

Friends of Omer Fairchild of California will be sorry to hear of his death. Omer was raised in our community and around Prescott.

Everett Orren went to the hospital in Texarkana one day last week. The doctors shocked his heart to correct his heart rhythm. We are thankful everything went well.

Dale Orren visited his grandmother, Chloe Orren, Sunday.

Bro. Keith Mauldin preached at Boughton Church Sunday. They plan to have preaching every Sunday.

Sammy and Kay House, Jason and Lauren of Little Rock spent Sunday with his parents, Leonard and Faye House.

Shady Grove Baptist Church will be in vacation Bible school August 3 through 7 from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. Our young folks are working hard and are planning some teaching with puppets.

Lois McGill visited Mary Ann and J.D. Lucas last week. Margie Compton of Little Rock also visited one day last week.

Diane Blankenship, Angie Copeland and baby Morgan Page spent Sunday with Annie Mae Hooks.

Overlook the faults of others and overcome your own.
