Golen OldiesDoris VancePublished Wednesday, August 12, 1998 in the Gurdon Times Yes, we are proud of our Kitchen Band. They did a great job at Pineview Care Center on Friday, July 31. Ann Smith had to tune her potato masher by Ross Carter's wash tub drum. Ann was out of tune and we can't have that can we? After she got in tune, we all began to shake, rattle and roll with our kitchen instruments. The center also enjoyed a time of singing old songs from the past with Helen Tarpley playing the piano. Helen has volunteered to play the piano once a month for us. Thank you, Helen, for a job well done. Tommy Rhodes was at the center on August 6 to teach us to make heart baskets out of cloth. We thank her so much for her time. August 10 through 14 will be nutrition week at the center. Senior citizens have found the skills for living. Even though they have aches and pains, they will teach you that life still goes on, and that one day at a time is the best way to go. They always have a smile on their face and when things look bad, they know that God will work it all out for them in the end. The Gurdon Senior Adult Center is a place for those to come and enjoy lunch, fellowship and visit with their friends. We at the Gurdon Center extend an invitation to all who are 60 and over to come and take part with us. We have activities from 10:45 until 11:15 a.m.We eat lunch at 11:30. We ask for a $1 donation for the meal. The center is a United Way Agency. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
