Aretsian Arts League Sets Event Above City Hall

The Artesian Arts League is sponsoring a fund-raiser, 'Fifties Follies and Sidewalk Caf.'

This gala event will take place Saturday, August 22, at 7 p.m. in the auditorium above Prescott City Hall.

City hall was built in 1939 and the Artesian Arts League's goal at the present time is restoring the auditorium.

This is going to be a great benefit to the community, to have it made functional again, according to a spokesman of the league. "Our mission is to renovate the auditorium so it can be used for future performances, art shows, workshops, dinner theater, etc.," according to a news release.

There are many things that need to be done to make the auditorium functional, the release stated.

The Artesian Arts League will be sponsoring this fund-raiser so that more work can be completed on the auditorium.

Advance tickets for the evemt are $8 and can be purchased from any Artesian Arts League member or by calling 887-5506, 887-3739 or 887-5365. Tickets will be on sale until August 20.

Tickets include a meal, which consists of hamburger, chips, brownie and drink and entertainment.

Take a step back in time to the 1950s by attending this special event. Local artists will provide entertainment from the 50s era and the Artesian Arts League will serve the meal.
