RedlandHazel MeeksPublished Wednesday, August 12, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune Don't know just how much rain we received, but we appreciated every drop. Shady Grove Baptist Church has just finished one of its most successful vacation Bible schools. The attendance was in the 80's every night. Because of the success and good attendance, our pastor, Bro. Mike Taylor, got a face full of cream pie on Sunday night. He is really a good sport. Donna, Werner and Lou Schmidt and Doyle Meeks from Longview, Texas, visited Neil and me on Thursday. The late John and Annie Baker have only three daughters out of seven left. The three had a get together on Thursday at Betty Baker Cagle's home. Chris Baker Harris from Prattsville, Evelyn Baker Dickerson from Emmet and three nieces were there. Cherri and Katy Wilson spent the weekend with her mother, Jackie, and Doyle Lucas in Redfield. Justin and Cole Hillery have qualified for the Arkansas State Horse Show to be held in Little rock at a later date. On Wednesday Katy Wilson went to Wild River Country and attended a movie in Little Rock with Britney Pedigo and mom Janette. John and Ryan Burdue attended the car races in Glenwood on Saturday night.
