Rosston's water tank has been cleaned on the inside and was to be filled and tested.

J.D. Luck, water superintendent at Rosston, told the Rosston City Council, at its regular monthly meeting Thursday, Aug. 6, once the tank was three-fourths of the way full, the water to it would be shut off and tested. When the tests are approved by the Arkansas Department of Health, the tank will be filled and ready for use.

Rosston Mayor Lewis Jackson said Bobby Carlton hooked the generator up at a cost of $900. This included all the wiring and putting in a new box.

The council agreed this will come in handy when the city buys a generator of its own.

Jackson said while the repairs to the water tank were being done, there was no problem with the water pressure. It remained at a constant 60 pounds, he said.

The renovation for Rosston's City Hall have been done, for the most part. Now, there is a door on the side of the building where a handicap parking spot was constructed.

Jackson said the interior walls of City Hall need to be repainted now, and the handicap symbol needs to be painted on the parking spot.

The restroom inside City Hall was also redone, with a new commode installed, handrails put in place and expanded to give more room.

The office was also expanded and the back door sealed.

Jackson said during the construction the breaker for the air conditioner went out and had to be replaced.

Because of some extra work which was done after the project began, it cost about $700 more than the original bid.

In other business, the city renewed its radio licenses along with renewing its agreement for copier service.
