Artesian Arts And LettersPenny RichardsPublished Wednesday, October 13, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune I've never been the best at making deadlines. If you are an older person of any religious or ethnic background, have lived here most of your life and remember how things used to be' and have an interesting story or memory to share, contact me at the number or address below. I want to hear about everything the war, everyday life, people or events that touched your life, and, yes, Old Mike. Photos would be helpful, too. I promise to take good care of them until they can be returned. The book will be printed just as the entries are written in your words, thus an oral' history. I'm excited! Give me a call!Calling aspiring writers:AAL is holding a First Chapter' contest in connection with our second Writers' Workshop which will be held March 17-18 next year. The first chapter of any kind of fiction novel will be accepted, as long as it does not exceed 25 pages. Cash awards will be given for the top three manuscripts. For a complete set of rules, contact me at the number below.March workshop:Confirmed speakers are Sandra Canfield, author of numerous contemporary books and winner of several industry awards, Lenora Nazworth, who writes inspirational romance for Steeple Hill, Jean Price of the Kirkland Literacy Agency and (tentatively) Jean's sister, best-selling historical author, Jodi Thomas.
