Mary Alice Cox

Mary Alice Buie Cox, 76, of Gallatin, Tenn., died Monday, August 3, 1998, of natural causes.

Mrs. Cox was born in Nevada County, the daughter of Della and Rondolf Buie. She moved to Tennessee in 1948. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Randolf Buie, her husband, J. Lee Cox, and one sister, Elizabeth Buie Litton. She was a retired nurse at Sumner Memorial Hospital in Gallatin. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Jim Cox of Kiston, N.C., three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Lee and Joe Wilkes, Connie and Robert Pearson, and Yvonne Russell, all of Gallatin; one brother, Jim Buie of West Palm Beach, Fla.; one sister, Jo Ann Willis of Grand Prairie, Texas; a sister-in-law, Joyce Buie of Grand Prairie, Texas.; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation was Wednesday, August 5. Graveside services were held Thursday, August 6, at Crestview Memorial Park in Gallatin with Ferrell Haile officiating. Close family and friends served as pallbearers. Internment was by Alexander's Funeral Home.
