CaneyRuby WickerPublished Wednesday, August 19, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune Sandra Pace of Kalamazoo, Mich., visited her dad, Delbert Steed last week. With her was her husband, Rev. George Pace, children, Rebekah, John, Jared, Tamarah, Sheriah and Nathanial. Charlotte Smith of Cut Off, La., had a stoke Tuesday. She was rushed by an ambulance to St. Michael in Texarkana and treated. She is on an extended visit here with her sister Margie Reed. She was released from St. Michael Saturday with no lingering effect. Retta Hicks went into the hospital this week for another scheduled surgery. Junior and Ann Loe visited Mary Cross Friday. Junior and Ann visited with Jane Bradshaw and Peggy Fain and their families of Camden Saturday afternoon. They also went by the funeral home to pay respect to Bett Bivil. Bett was buried in Camden Sunday afternoon. Jerry Don and Anita Joyce Wicker attended funeral service of Bett Bevil Sunday afternoon. Bro. Tal Webb and family had lunch Sunday with her parents, Larry and Betty Gilleyean of Prescott. Junior and Ann attended the annual homecoming at Rosston Sunday. Lucy Glass, Sidney Steed, Maxine and J.W. Glass, Chas and Ricky White, Junior and Ann Loe, Bobby and Wanda Lunsford, Bro. Tal Webb attended service at Landmark Mission near Hope Sunday afternoon at 4:00. Bro. Tal Webb delivered the message. Lifton Cearley was honored with a birthday wishes and homemade ice cream Sunday evening after church and all were invited. Pat McCullough made the ice cream and Christi Rhodes furnished the cake. Lifton gave us a number but I don't think she told us exactly how old or young she is. Pat McCullough entertained with a kiddie party at her house Saturday night. Children present were: Tim and Leah, Clancy and Hannah Cleveland, Tessa and Lacy Webb, Cody Jackson, Sara Jobe, and Aaron Morton. They had a weiner roast and played games. Pam Cleveland and children, Barb Morton and children, Deb Jackson and children had lunch Sunday with their parents J.W. and Maxine Glass. Bill Ed and Glenda Dixon of Orange, Texas and Al and Mary Hart of Irving, Texas came home for the Watermelon Festival at Hope. Wednesday evening they all gathered at the home of Dale and Ethel Ellis of Sutton for potluck and visit with family members. All that were present were Gerald and Mary Overton, Olen and Vernelle Loe, J.W. Maxine and Lucy Glass, Mary Gail and Sheryl Hughes, Pat McCullough and family, Pam Cleveland and family and Dud Wicker of Texarkana. Maxine, J.W. and Lucy Glass had supper at Country Corner Friday evening with Van and Ellen Smith of Waldo. I went to Branson, Mo., last week with my daughter Amy Sweat and her children Chris, Denis, Emily and Kellen. We spent two days and two nights and returned home Monday. Bro. Tal and Crista Webb, Pam and Kevin Cleveland and Lucy Glass visited J.W. and Maxine Glass Saturday evening. J.W. and Maxine visited Margie Reed and Charlotte Smith Sunday evening after church.
