Dail Brown ButlerPublished Wednesday, August 19, 1998 in the Gurdon TimesDail Brown Butler, 85, went to join her Savior in that home not made by hands Saturday, August 8, 1998, at 9:45 p.m. at Columbia Medical Park Home in Hope. Mrs. Butler was born April 11, 1913, to Benjamin and Laura Meadow Brown in Nevada County. She was married to Richard Love Butler, who preceded her in death. To this union, eight children were born. Three children preceded her in death. During Mrs. Butler's tenure, she served as a choir member, a Sunday school teacher, a member of the mission department and she was an inspirational speaker, who spoke at various churches. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Lottie Butler of Kansas City, Mo., and Albert and Minnie Butler and Henry and Shelia Butler, all of Prescott; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Donald Nixon of Prescott and Hattie and Leary Ford of Texarkana, Texas; one sister, Rosalind Darden of Hope; 20 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 15, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Brandon's Mortuary of Hope. Interment was in Sweet Home Cemetery near Prescott. Rev. Joe Battle, pastor. Rev. Eugene Toney, pastor of St. Mark Baptist Church, delivered the eulogy.
