Gurdon Adult Education classes are open. Classes meet on Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Night classes meet on Mondays and Tuesdays from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Classes are free. Call 870-353-4555 for more information.

Diamond Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross will be holding its annual meeting of the area Red Cross on September 1 at 7:00 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church fellowship hall at 9th and Pine Streets in Arkadelphia. Refreshments will be served. The Diamond Valley Chapter serves Clark, Dallas, Grant, Hot Spring and Pike Counties.

Arkansas Rehabilitation Services will be at the Gurdon Municipal Building August 27 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The 1998 Clark County Fair pageant is planned to begin at 7 00 p.m. on Monday, August 31. It will be held at Arkansas Hall on the campus of Henderson State University.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon.
