Plays To Be Presented At OBUPublished Wednesday, August 26, 1998 in the Gurdon TimesThe department of theater arts of the Bernice Young Jones School of Fine Arts at Ouachita Baptist University will present two musicals and several multi-act and one act plays through the course of the 1998-99 academic year. The Ouachita department of theater arts will begin the 1998-99 season at Verser Theater with Noises Off, a play by Michael Frayn. The play will run on October 1-3, and October 5-6. Tickets are $4 each and curtain time is 7:30 p.m. Godspell will be on stage at Verser Theater on the evenings of November 15 and 16. The play will be Ouachita's entry in the fall competition in the Arkansas College Theater Festival. Tickets are $5 and curtain time is 7:30 p.m. Ouachita drama students will present an unannounced spring production on March 11, 12, 13, 15 and16 at 7:30 p.m. in Verser Theater. Tickets are $4. Into the Woods, a musical by Stephen Sonheim and James Lapine, will be co-presented by personnel in the department of theater arts and the division of music on April 15-18 in Jones Performing Arts Center. Curtain for the first three performances is at 7:30 p.m. Final performance is a matinee showing on April 18 at 2:30 p.m. Admission is $8. An evening of student directed and produced one-act plays at Verser Theater will be on the card for two nights in the spring, May 6 and 7 at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.
