Doc Jordan Named Fellow

Published Wednesday, August 26, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune

Dr. Wayne Jordan of Prescott was recently honored as a Paul Harris Fellow by the Prescott Rotary Club.

Billie McCain, who worked for Dr. Jordan for 22 years, made the presentation to his son, Bev Jordan, a Rotarian too, at the regular Tuesday meeting July 7. Due to illness, Dr. Jordan could not be present to accept the award.

McCain described Jordan as a beloved community dentist for over 38 years here in Prescott. Dr. Jordan served as president of the club in 1967-68. He was designated to receive the recognition as a special appreciation from the Prescott Rotary Club.

The presentation of a Paul Harris Fellow recognition is the Rotary Foundation's way of expressing its appreciation for a substantial contribution to its humanitarian and educational programs.

It is named for the founder of Rotary, Paul Harris, a Chicago lawyer who started Rotary International with three business associates in 1905.

Rotarians often designate a Paul Harris Fellow as a tribute to a person whose life demonstrates a shared purpose with the objectives of the Rotary Foundation.
