RosstonPublished Wednesday, August 26, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneMarguerite Williams Our pastor, Bro. Petie Ward, brought a good message this morning. Other than several teenagers as guests our new neighbors, Joie and Ellen Wallace, were in our service. We were real happy to have them. Henry Dixon was able to be back in service, but Roscoe got up with vertigo and was not able to attend. Lewis Jackson is improving, but he is still not able to be in church. Ronnie Clark, husband of Sherry Dillard Clark, was able to come home Saturday, after a week in St. Michael Hospital with chemical pneumonia. We regret that Bro. Charles Jones, a former pastor of ours, fell from the top of his church at De Queen and injured both legs. They were building a room onto the church. He is in St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana. J.T. Adams of Imboden called this morning and talked to Roscoe. He reports that he is doing fine for a 92-year-old man. Max Allen Morman's wife, Wendy, reports that her grandmother passed away last week. We send sympathy to this family. We also send sympathy to the Tedder family of Magnolia. The 25- year-old mother of a 5- year-old-son and a 4-month-old daughter passed away last week. The father was a security guard at SAU, where he was attending college. They were close friends of our granddaughter and husband, Tori, Teddy and Kathryne Rocole. Tori and Teddy attend college with him and were neighbors on the campus. Tori and Teddy are going to help him with the children while he works. They attended the funeral in Wynne on Friday. Our guests for lunch after church Sunday were Booie Williams and Kathryne Rocole. Kathryne's mother had to work as did son Jimmy. Jimmy Williams was our guest for breakfast on Thursday. He mowed and used the Weedeater for us. We appreciate our children so much while we are in need. Whites Chapel did not have preaching service Sunday as the pastor, Bro. Wayne Langston, is having back problems. His wife, Bonnie, will enter a Little Rock hospital for surgery on her shoulder the 14th. She thought she would have a shoulder replacement, but I think they have decided to try pins. Please remember this couple in your prayers. Max and Shirley West have moved a beautiful mobile home in the yard of Max's daddy, Carl West. I know he is happy to have them near by. Johnnie Walraven is recuperating at home, but still needs our prayers. Herbert and Audrey Fore were our guests on Thursday afternoon. Roscoe and I visited with Dail and Marjorie Evans on Saturday afternoon and got to visit with Bro. J.P. Jones, who was visiting with them. Dail still needs our prayers. I visited with Bonnie Barham of Mesquite, Texas, on the phone one afternoon last week. Betty Barham is there helping take care of Bonnie. They plan to bring her home on Labor Day. Jeff, Tara, Elizabeth and Josh Carlton attended the 50th anniversary of Matt Harwell's parents in Gurdon on Saturday afternoon. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
