Truck Hits Split Rail Resident

A 39-year-old resident of the Split Rail was injured when he was struck by a vehicle after jumping in front of it.

According to reports from the Prescott Police Department, at about 9:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, Sharon Weaver, of Prescott, was traveling west on Highway 371 in a 1981 Ford Courier when she saw a pedestrian on the side of the road.

Weaver began slowing down, but as she got closer, Bobby Jimmerson, ran out in front of her and was hit by the truck.

He was transported to St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana by the Nevada County Ambulance Service.

Patrolman Sam Reeder worked the incident and issued no citations.
