Worship services will be conducted at the old senior citizen building on Third Street September 4 at 7:00 p.m. by Rev. Herbert L. Baker, pastor of First Apostle Church of El Dorado, along with Freddie Young and Sis. Alice Faye Wilson. Everyone and all churches are welcome to these services. It will be a blessing. Minister Freddie Young is in charge.

Saturday, September 5, Rev. Quintin Radford, pastor of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker at Davis Chapel Memorial Church of God in Christ at 7:30 p.m. in Crossett.

Annual church anniversary at St. Ruth Baptist Church of West Gum Springs will be held Sunday, Sept. 6, at 2:30 p.m. Everyone and all churches are welcome. Special guests will be New Mt Zion Baptist Church of Gurdon, Rev. Quintin Radford, pastor and speaker. Rev. Charlie Thomas, pastor.

First Sunday night fellowship services will convene with First Memorial Church of God in Christ of Gurdon on Sunday, September 6, at 6:30 p.m. Elder Paul Williams is the pastor.

The Southwest District Baptist Association Choir will travel to Kansas City, Mo., Saturday, Sept. 5. The choir will be among the special guests in the National Baptist Convention in Kansas City. They will also appear at two other services. Dr. Kenneth G. Harris Jr. is president of division choirs, which is made up of different churches in Southwest. Dr. C. K. Yarber, is moderator. Bro. Lawrence Guinn, president of Fifth Sunday Singing Union.

The 84th session of Southwest District Association Singing Convention to convene with Harrison Chapel Baptist Church in Delight September 18 and 19. The theme is Upholding Standards of Church Music for the 21st Century. The theme song is Hold to God's Unchanging Hand. Dr. Kenneth G. Harris Jr. is president, Rev. Rufus R. Hatley is host pastor and Dr. C. K. Yarber is moderator.

Annual homecoming will be held Sunday, September 27, at 2:30 p.m. at St. Clair Missionary Baptist Church in Burtsell. Rev. R. B. Beard is pastor. Special guests will include Rev. Rufus R. Hatley and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Antoine; Harrison Chapel Baptist Church, Delight; First Baptist Church, Okolona; Shady Grove Baptist Church, Beirne; New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Gurdon; Macedonia Boughton; and Union Grove, Bluff City. Everyone and all churches are welcome. Sis. Nancy McPeak is worship leader.

Annie Mae Phifer of Phoenix, Ariz., visited her mother, Mrs. Birdie Quarles of Smithton, sister Mildred Anderson and family, Bonnie Ruth Ross and family, brother Herman Quarles Jr. and family, sister Lula Mae Carol and family and other friends in Gurdon.

Mrs. Quarles and Phifer also visited Zex Anderson and Nancy McPeak of the Holly Grove community, as well as Whate McPeak and family.

Lonnie Quarles, her brother, and a friend from Plano, Texas, came to visit his mother, Birdie Quarles, and sister, Annie Mae Phifer, Mildred Anderson, Bonnie Ross, brother Herman Quarles Jr. and their families. They also visited Aletha McPeak of Gurdon.

Tom E. Phifer and Leon Stitt of Texas visited Mrs. Birdie Quarles. Mildred Anderson also accompanied Mrs. Quarles and Phifer to Malvern. She also attended Eastern Star Baptist Church in Smithton.
