This year's fair will be held Sept. 8-12 at the Clark County Fairgrounds. The fun begins Tuesday, Sept. 8, with exhibits being registered from noon until 7 p.m., with the exception of plants, baked goods, livestock, crops, fruits and vegetables and fine arts. Swine must be entered by 5 o'clock, while swine, sheep and goat judging will be done at 6:30 p.m. All educational booths must be set up by 7 p.m. on the 12th, with special activities to be ready by this time in the commercial building. At 9:30 p.m., there will be door prize drawings at the commercial building. Wednesday, Sept. 9, will be the time to get ornamental plants and flowers, baked items and horticulture and farm crops entered. This will be done between 8 a.m. and noon, with judging set for 1 p.m. In the educational building, judging will begin at 9 a.m., while the facility will remain closed to the public until after the parade ends. Fine arts are to be registered Wednesday, Sept. 9 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., with judging to be done at 1 o'clock. Photos for the pretty baby photo contest are to be registered between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. as well. All commercial boots must be set up by 5 p.m. The annual fair parade will begin at 5 o'clock on Main Street in downtown Arkadelphia. The educational building will be open from 5-9 p.m., with showing of sheep, goat and swine set for 6 o'clock. Again, door prizes will be drawn for at 9:30 p.m. at the commercial building. The annual 4-H poultry chain sale will start at 10 a.m. At 10:30 a.m., everyone will gather for the annual George Sharp Junior Livestock Sale. This will be followed by an appreciation lunch for those who purchased the cattle. It will also be kiddie day on the midway, with a pee wee show scheduled for 7 p.m. All Pee Wees must register to be in this show by noon Friday, Sept. 4, though. The fair and livestock show will wind down Saturday night with the animals being released at 9 p.m. and door prizes given out at 10 o'clock. All exhibits must be picked up between 2-3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, or the entrant will forfeit any award. There will be no exceptions in the matter.
