September activities have been planned. Every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we are planning to do crafts. Mrs. Tommy Rhodes will be directing our crafts and getting us ready for the Christmas bazaar. We are planning for the Forest Festival. We will also be taking donations on our quilt.

We are planning to have a lot of singing this month and the Kitchen Band will be practicing on Wednesdays. We have been having a lot of fun playing kitchen instruments. Art Cooper is making a saw to play and others are beginning to join our band.

The center enjoyed a week of nutrition with Flossy Mitchell and Barbara Holt. We were taught how to plan meals and shop for groceries for one or two people. We were also taught about reading labels and how to store food safely during winter and summer months.

On Thursday, September 3, we expressed our appreciation to our kitchen staff, Barbara Weems, Anne Caldwell, Sue Schoonover and Vernessa Russey.

Eulah Wilson was chosen by the center as outstanding volunteer for 1998. She works at the registration desk every day.

One of the kitchen staff, Marva Williams, has gotten married and moved to Hot Springs. Congratulations, Marva.

On Thursday, September 3, the center played the 'The Price Is Right.' Everyone seemed to enjoy it.

Hope everyone had a safe Labor Day.

The center is a United Way Agency.
