Lil' Britches Rodeo Sept. 20Published Wednesday, September 9, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe semi-annual Lil' Britches Rodeo for children ages 18 and under will be held Saturday, September 26. The rodeo, to be held in the arena at the fairgrounds, will begin at 6 p.m. instead of 7 p.m. as stated in the fair book. Admission to the rodeo is $3 for adults and $2 for children ages 12 and under. Events for the rodeo include calf flag race, calf tying, calf riding, barrel racing, barrel pickup, chute dogging, hide slide, muttin' bustin', girls' goat tying and steer riding. Entry fees are $10 for all events except the flag race, which is $2. Events are limited to 15 contestants except for the flag race and muttin' bustin', which is limited to 30 entrants. Prizes will be awarded in each event. All-around buckles will be given to high point winners in both boys' and girls' divisions. Registration for all events will be held at the fairgrounds Sunday, September 20, from 2 to 4 p.m.; Tuesday, September 22, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.; and Saturday, September 26, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Parents must go to the fairgrounds, pay and sign a release at one of the registration times.
