Mitchell, Cox Exchange Vows Aug. 8Published Wednesday, September 9, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneKelly Lynn Mitchell and Randy Joe Cox were united in marriage on August 8. Rev. Terry Simpson and Rev. David O. Mitchell, the bride's father, officiated the outdoor 6 p.m. ceremony held on the Arlington Lawn in Hot Springs National Park. The ceremony was performed in front of the natural Hot Springs waterfalls and pools. The bride is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. David Mitchell of Benton. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Tollett of Little Rock and Mrs. Louise Mitchell and the late Johnny Mitchell of Montgomery, Ala. The bridegroom is a minister and the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Cox of Prescott. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Harden of Prescott and Mr. and Mrs. Skip Dillard of Rosston. Serving as ushers were T.J. Wood of Conway and Loren Miller of Maumelle. After arriving in a white horse-drawn carriage, the bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride wore a white Princess Collection formal A-line gown of Duchess satin. The gown featured Venice lace capped short sleeves. Venice lace also adorned the fitted bodice, full skirt and cathedral-length train. The bodice and train were delicately embellished with clear sequins and seed pearls. The back of the dress was graced with tiny satin covered buttons from neck to waist ending with an elegant satin bow just below the waist. The bride wore a floor length chiffon veil with three scalloped folds and carried a bouquet of long stemmed bi-colored russet and yellow Lianetta roses. The maid of honor was Christy Mitchell of Conway, sister of the bride. She wore a soft yellow tea-length dress with a sweetheart neckline accented in satin. The bridesmaids were Jamie Miller of Maumelle, Joy Allen of Hot Springs and Susan Allen of Hot Springs. The bridesmaids wore dresses matching that of the maid of honor in a light sage green. The flowers carried by the maid of honor and the bridesmaids were cascading bouquets of silk flowers ad variegated ivy. The flowers were tangerine tulips, yellow mums and purple bachelor buttons. Best man was Cary Cox of Conway, brother of the groom. The groomsmen were James Cox of Prescott, father of the groom, and Billy Dillard of Prescott. The couple lit the unity candle on the balcony overlooking the hot springs waterfall and pools, to the music, 'The Colour of My Love,' sang by Celine Dion. The bride and groom rode in a white horse-drawn carriage to the reception, which was held in the Majestic Hotel's Grady-Manning Morning Room. Reception attendants for the bride's rose covered cake and the groom's heart-shaped chocolate cake were Dusty Clark, Lashanna Dillard, Vanessa Fife, Trish Cox and Christy Ward.
