RosstonPublished Wednesday, September 9, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneMarguerite Williams Our youth department was in charge of the services last Sunday. Two young boys sang a duet and did it a capella. They did a super job. Some of our ladies sang too. We had a singing on Sunday night and then had an ice cream supper in the fellowship hall. Afterward the youth enjoyed a volleyball game. Our pastor, Bro. Petie Ward, married Louise Ritter and B.C. Dillard last Friday evening at her home. Laura Ward and Joe and Virginia Dillard were their attendants. We wish them a happy life together. Guests in the church today were Joie and Ellen Wallace, our great grandson, Tyler McKinnon of Texarkana, and B.C. Dillard's great grandson, Drake of Atlanta, Texas. We were happy to have Johnny and Brenda Jensen and baby back in Church. The baby celebrated his second birthday on Saturday. We sang Happy Birthday to him as he was the only August birthday. Brad Hart and family of McAllen, Texas, and Bro. Jim Hart and wife of Serepta, La., spent the weekend in Rosston at the J.P. Harts. They and Richard and Betty Kenzel are cleaning out their parents' house, Milburn and Edna Mae Hart. This is a sad job, I know, because we have done this two different times. Roscoe and I and our grandson, Tyler, had lunch with all of them at Richard and Betty Kenzels on Saturday. All the children enjoyed a swim in their beautiful pool. Our Son, Jimmy Williams, of Prescott was our guest for a while after church Sunday night. We visited with A.B. and Maxine Luck. On Tuesday night, Roscoe and I had supper at Woods Fish House in Camden with Bill and Pat Lusby. Roscoe went back to his doctor in Little Rock on Wednesday and got a good report. We have really been blessed. The doctor told him he could mow the yard for which I know our sons are really thankful. Continue to pray for us and all others who are sick, those who have had surgery and the ones who are due to have surgery in the near future. Jack and Sybil Waters of Stephens were our guests last Saturday afternoon. They also visited Wayne and Tommie Lew Jarvis. Our grandson, Marty Williams, and his new bride, Raegan, visited us this afternoon and brought the new wedding pictures. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
