Poster Contest Is Slated For Nevada County Fair

Nevada County Farm Bureau Federation is sponsoring a safety promotion poster contest at the Nevada County Fair.

Posters may be entered Sunday, September 21, from 1:30 to 4 p.m. and Monday, September 21, from 8:30 to 10 a.m.

The themes for the poster should be related to some aspect of safety, such as farm machinery, chemicals, home, fire, bus, all terrain vehicles, motor vehicles, bikes, tornado, poisoning, etc.

Some of the entries may be entered in district and state competition. Here are the rules for entering:

1) Health and safety promotion is the overall theme.

2) For county and state competition, the student's name, address, social security number, grade, school, county and parent's name and telephone numbers must be written on the back of the entry.

3) There are two categories of competition: students in grades one, two and three, and students in grades four, five and six.

4) The entry must be prepared on poster board not exceeding 25x35 inches.

5) Entry can be three dimensional.
