Alcoholics Anonymous, a fellowship of men and women who wish to stop drinking, meets every Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church.

Al-Anon, for those affected by another's drinking, meets Thursday

evenings at 8:00 in the church. For more information call 887-5991.

A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be in Prescott in the Social Security room in the courthouse on Thursday, September 24, from 9 a.m. until 12:00 noon.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind children. To find out if you are eligible, call 1- 800-772-1213.

The 26th annual Burns Park Arts and Crafts Fair coordinated by Arkansas League of Artists will be Saturday, September 26, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, September 27, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Arkansas League of Artists proceeds promote art education including youth scholarships.

The fair will feature original art works, demonstrations, original craft items and food concessions. Parking and admission is free.

There will be a gospel Singing Saturday, September 19, at 7 p.m. Herbert Adams, Russell Carlton, Margie Dansby, Crossroads Singers, Nancy Lovette, Third Generation and Central Quartet will be featured.

All proceeds will go to purchase new lights for the courthouse in memory of John Henry.

Admission will be $4 for adults and $2 for children.

The Nevada County Fair Association will host the Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, September 22.

The coffee will be held at the Chamber of Commerce office from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Everyone is invited to come out and help kick off fair week.

The Nevada County Rescue Unit will have a dedication ceremony on Thursday, September 24, at the Nevada County Rescue Unit new building.

It will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. This ceremony will be to dedicate the building in memory of Charles Ray Cross. The program will start at 9:00. Refreshments will be served.
