Mrs. Allie Martin's funeral was held Thursday, September 10, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Vernon A.M.E. Church in Stephens. Rev. Chester Fort, pastor, officiated. Daughters, Betty Jackson of Sacramento, Calif., and Christine Bailey of Rosston; four sons, Earlie Martin and L.T. Martin of Rosston, Rudolph Martin of Stephens and Rev. C.D. Martin of Pasadena, Calif., survive, as do many grandchildren great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

I went to Mrs. Allie Martin's funeral. I stopped by Mrs. Elsie Sanders' house. She is bedfast. Let's pray for her. She is a wonderful person. Sympathy goes out to the Martin family.

Annual homecoming was held at St. Peter A.M.E. Church in Willisville with Rev. W.M. Jamerson, pastor. Rev. James Fred Williams brought the homecoming sermon. He really did preach good. His text was 'A Temporary Homecoming.'

September 26 is budget reporting time at Stamps.

Homecoming will be held at Cana A.M.E. Church Sunday, September 20. Elder Bernis Blake from Hot Springs will bring the message in the afternoon. Rev. L. Banks is the pastor.

James Charles visited his Aunt Girtie B. Blake on the weekend. Girtie is not doing too good. She has missed church a lot lately. Lourine Jenkins visited her this weekend. She went to her grandmother's funeral.
