BoughtonMrs. Willie HooksPublished Wednesday, September 16, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune We have had a nice rain and can feel a little tinge of fall for which we are so thankful. Norma and Richard Yate of Albuquerque, N.M., and Payton White of Little Rock spent last Saturday with Mildred White. Payton is Mildred's grandson and his parents, Marty and Rita White, were on a cruise. Dicky Halliday is having trouble with an abscessed tooth. He has been in and out of the hospital. We wish him good luck. Tuesday was our son's Willie Hugh's birthday. We got a big surprise. He and his wife, Carolyn, brought hamburgers, onion rings and floats and ate supper with us. Church at Boughton was well attended Sunday. Bro. Danny Miller is preaching at Boughton. Those enjoying pizza with Doris Ridgell Sunday were Kim Hughes and Brittney, Angie Wren, Kelsey, Mike and Brook, Dodie Ridling, Joe and Kay Wren and Louise Mitchell. J.D. and Mildred Kelly visited Mary Ann and J.D. Lucas during the weekend. Mary Ann and J.D. also went fishing. Mary Ann caught a five-pound bass. Willie and I visited Roy and Syble Brown Thursday afternoon and enjoyed listening to a tape of the beautiful singing of the Cathedral Quartet. Joseph and Lucy Health and Joseph Health Jr. visited their son and brother, Tim Health, and his wife of St. Louis, Mo., last weekend. Choose your life's mate carefully. From this one decision will come, ninety percent of all your happiness or misery. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
