Gurdon Lake Is Stocked With CatfishPublished Wednesday, September 16, 1998 in the Gurdon TimesArkansas Game and Fish Commission crews stocked 243,041 fish in Arkansas lakes and rivers during August, Mike Gibson, assistant chief of fisheries, said last week. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission crews stocked Gurdon Lake with 600 catchable catfish. These catfish weighed about one and one-half pounds each. Fishermen are reminded that the daily limit is five catfish per licensed angler. No trotlines or yo yo's are allowed on Gurdon Lake. Other fish stockings in this area included the Caddo River in Clark and Montgomery counties, where 900 catchable channel catfish were stocked, and the Ouachita River in Clark and Hot Spring counties was stocked with 1,000 catchable channel catfish.
